Setra Ironer - Page 2

Cylinder, Bridge and Drive
  • The Air Cylinders - The arrangement of the pneumatic cylinders to obtain the required ironing pressure has been totally redesigned in the Setra concept. The cylinders act eccentrically on the lever arm of the roll and the shaft of the cylinder is angled. To balance out the differing weight proportions between the drive and suction sides of the rolls, the point of application of the pneumatic cylinder has been precisely calculated and can be variously positioned. In this way, the horizontal forces acting on the rotating roll can be compensated over the whole width of the roll.
  • The Gap Pieces / The Bridges - Heated gap pieces are used as bridges between the rolls and multi-roll ironers. The gap pieces of the Setra are steam heated to achieve an optimum result in treating the laundry items.
  • The Drive - The variable speed direct current motor with integral cooling fan and brake in the Setra words extremely quietly. It is fitted on easily removable slide rails and positioned between the chests so that the maintenance and service access were considerably improved. The direct drive to the roll gear boxes is operated by large pulleys and open V-belts ensuring smooth and extremely accurate running and a minimum of slippage. The drive of the feeding belts, which are very easily removed, is also operated by V-belts.
Control, Insulation and Extraction
  • The Control - The control unit is housed in a separate control box with a cable connection to the ironer. This control unity can also be installed on top of the feeding machines. A number of standard features such as thermal stop, speed selection with a fine tuning and interface connecting the feeding machine are integrated in the control panel to improve the machine's performance.
  • The Insulation - The chests and gap pieces are completely insulated over the whole surface to prevent them from heat radiation losses. The sandwich-design provides a unique hear insulation.
  • The Extraction - The Setra ironer is equipped with a central suction system. THe exact setting of the fixed regulating flaps can be adjusted individually for each roll. According to the volume of laundry, the appropriate air extraction is guaranteed at all times. An electronically controlled air extraction is also available. This system avoids the unnecessary air extractions at low settings and small laundry batches.
Space Saving
The "self-supporting" design of the chests means that the Setra ironer has no need for a bulky framework. Compared with other ironers, the machine width has been considerably reduced. The Setra is available in three models:
     Setra 800 - Working Width: 98 inches - 118 inches
     Setra 1000 - Working Width: 130 inches - 145 inches
     Setra 1300 - Working Width: 157 inches - 177 inches
