The principle of roll/bed is still the most efficient and economic
technology for the drying and ironing process of flatwork linen.
However, the conventional bed design applied for decades no longer
complies with the requirements of modern high-tech construction.
The modern solution to the problem is a nearly 8 mm think heating
band made of a highly dynamic sturdy and robust stainless steel
which guarantees an almost formfitting wrapping of the roller.
The Heating Band Technology
The essential core of the HPM High Power Ironer is the new heating
band technology. In comparison to conventional ironer beds, the
HPM offers distinct advantages:
- Faster Throughput
- Higher Drying Capacity
- Higher Ironing Pressure
- Reduction in Space Requirements
- Reduction in Operation and Maintenance Costs
- Reduction in Consumption Figures
In addition to increased overall efficiency, the highly polished steel
surface of the heating band and uniform iron pressure produce a perfect
finished quality.
The heating band technology was made possible thanks to new stainless
steel alloys and an advanced development of laser welding technology.
Two stainless steel sheets of highest quality are welded together
as a sandwich element. The 3 mm thick hollow space in between is
provided with quite a number of narrow flow channels with high turbulence
effect.
The heating band comprises of a bridge fully steam heated over the
whole area. The highly flexible heating band ensures at all times
a perfect alignment with the roll diameter. This guarantees that
the ironing capacity is not reduced by the wearing of the ironer
padding.
